David D. Wagner, 88 of Zanesville died peacefully at 7:34 AM Monday, May 24, 2021 at his home.
He was born September 3, 1932 in Zanesville the son of Dale O. Wagner and Cholida (Archer) Wagner.
David was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, a Navy Veteran of the Korean War and a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council #505. He retired after 37 years with AEP. He enjoyed watching all types of sports at Rosecrans High School, going to the Fieldhouse and working out routinely and very much enjoyed spending time with family, especially the grandchildren.
He is survived by two sons, Steve (Kim Mortimer) Wagner and Patrick (Julie) Wagner both of Zanesville; 3 grandchildren, Kendall Wagner, Hanna Wagner & Hayden Wagner; a brother, John Wagner; a sister, Joanne Andrews. David was preceded in death by parents; his wife, Mary Lou (Basehart) Wagner; a brother and three sisters.
Visitation will be held 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 with funeral service at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home with Fr. Martin Ralko officiating. Burial with Military Honors will conclude at the Mt. Olive Cemetery, East Pike.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Bishop Rosecrans High School, 1040 East Main St. Zanesville Ohio in Dave's memory.
