J. Erin Christian Rossi, 49, of Zanesville died at 9:24 AM Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Genesis Healthcare following a sudden illness.
She was born on Friday, March 17, 1972 in Columbus, Ohio.
Erin had the most memorable and unparalleled personality. She was always full of an energy and humor that infected everyone she spoke to. She made friends with everyone she met, and would do the most to help others for nothing in return, or often to her own detriment. She was incredibly outspoken and brutally honest. She was unfaltering in the face of adversity and took on every day one at a time. Even through her, many health ailments she employed herself and ran a small business. Erin had an encyclopedic knowledge of antiques and collectibles. What others saw as trash she knew how to hustle into profit. Erin was perpetually inquisitive and adventurous. She was an avid connoisseur of music and art and an enthusiastic lover of nature. Erin was an exceptional and dedicated mother. She put her all into making sure her daughter was protected and taken care of. Erin is incomparable and irreplaceable. She is loved and remembered by many and will be deeply and irrevocably missed.
Erin is survived by her daughter, Darrian Rain Christian Rossi; three siblings, Matthew M. Mawhorter, Lisa M. Mawhorter, and Benjamin (Julie) E. Mawhorter; a niece and three nephews; and many friends, including her ex-husband, Stephen C. Rossi.
She was preceded in death by her mother Sonya Lynn Massey Mawhorter.
Celebration of life service will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. The family will continue to share stories at a gathering afterwards.
Instead of cut flowers, the family requests that people plant a tree or send a plant in Erin's memory.
