Patrick was born in Houston, Texas on January 17, 1955. He graduated from Bishop Rosecrans High School where he lettered four years in Football, Basketball and Track.
Patrick had a passion for his community. He served customers for years in the store his family owned, Convenient Food Mart/Ameristop Food Mart on Maple Avenue and loved getting to know all of their customers as family. After the business closed, he began working for Putnam Trucking Company, then The Alvan Company, and finally FedEx Freight as the Customer Center Manager from where he retired in 2007.
He dedicated many years to the youth of Zanesville, teaching and coaching football for the Far North Stars Biddy League and St. Nicholas Junior High School. He served as assistant coach for both the Zanesville Blue Devils and Bishop Rosecrans High School with his great friend Whit Parks. He had a passion for cooking, in-depth political conversations, listening to music, playing chess, and watching and playing sports. He was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
Patrick is survived by wife, Mary Jo (Ferguson) Lyon, who was his high school sweetheart. They were married by Father Charles Cotton on May 28, 1977 at Saint Nicholas Catholic Church and were happily married for 41 years.
