Rebecca "Becke" Sue Whissel, 79 of Zanesville died at 8:10 AM Sunday, March 5, 2023 at the Home under hospice care following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 2, 1943 in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of James R. Everly and Fannie M. Bender Everly.
Becke graduated from New Concord High School in 1961. She had been employed at Essex Wire & Good Samaritan Hospital for many years but was mostly a homemaker. She enjoyed baking, watching Hallmark shows, especially around Christmas time and mostly enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three children, Cindy Whissel and fiance Dan Terrill, Rob (Tasha) Whissel and Kim Wheeler; grandchildren, Jordan Wheeler, Audrey Wheeler and Brooklyn Wheeler and Allie Willey; three great grandchildren, Kamrie & Ayla Wheeler, Anavrin Willey; a cousin, Tom Ross & special lifelong friend, Bev Browning; and numerous brothers & sisters in law. Becke was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert E. "Gene" Whissel and a sister, Betty L. Everly.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home with graveside service & burial to follow at St. Paul Cemetery on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 with Keith Taylor officiating.
